Milk doughnut



Ingredients

1. All purpose flour – 2 cups
2. Salt - 0.5 tsp
3. Baking soda – 0.5 tsp
4. Baking powder – 1.5 tsp
5. Milk – 0.5 cup
6. Nutmeg grated – 0.5 tsp
7. Egg – 1
8. Butter – 1 tbsp (softened)
9. Sugar – 0.5 cup
10. Milk – 0.5 cup
11. Powdered sugar – as needed for rolling and coating the doughnuts.
Method
1. Beat the eggs well till frothy.
2. To this add the softened butter and sugar. Mix well.
3. Sift the dry ingredients together and add this mixture to the combined wet ingredients. Knead well for 5 minutes.
4. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll out each portion on a floured surface into a circle of 1/2" thickness. Trim sing a doughnut cutter or u could use a big lid and a small lid.
5. Heat the oil. When the oil is steaming hot reduce the flame and fry the doughnuts till golden brown.
6. Roll the fried doughnuts in powdered sugar when still hot.
